Understanding Spinning Machines

Generally, the BCF spinning machine itself has four functional zones.


① Polymer melting device: screw extruder.


② Melt conveying, distribution, spinning and insulation devices: bent pipes, spinning boxes (melt distribution pipes, metering pumps, spinning head components).


③ Wire cooling device: spinning window and cooling sleeve.


④ Wire collection device: wet oiling mechanism, wire guide structure, winding machine or wire receiving device.


Melting device


(1) The supply of solid materials, polymer melting, and quantitative extrusion of molten materials.


(2) The screw has three stages: feeding section, compression section, and metering section.


(3) The working principle of a screw extruder is the partitioning of the screw and the movement of materials in each zone of the screw.


① Equal depth screw in the feeding area (curing area).


② The inner core of the jacket coil or screw in the front half (cooling zone) is filled with cooling water to prevent premature melting of materials and blockage of the material, which protects the screw transmission mechanism from heat.


③ The second half (preheating zone) prevents sudden temperature changes in the material from the feed zone to the compression zone.


④ The compression zone (melting zone) gradually or abruptly changes the screw melting material (heating, shearing) and compresses it (reducing the volume of the screw groove); Return air or water vapor to the feed area.


⑤ Shallow screws such as metering area (homogenization area).


Melt conveying, distribution, spinning, and insulation devices


(1) The melt conveying pipeline from the bending screw extruder to the spinning box (one end connected to the screw outlet and the other end connected to the spinning machine melt distribution pipe) - heating of the biphenyl diphenyl ether mixture inside the jacket (melt insulation).


(2) Spinning box, melt distribution pipe, heating box, spinning pump and its transmission device, spinning head assembly.


① Principles of Melt Distribution Tube


② Ensure that the distance between the melt and each spinning position is the same, and that the melt stays in the distribution tube for a short time; Fold back less.


③ The form of the melt distribution pipe is branching and radiating.


(3) Heating of spinning box (biphenyl heating box)


① The insulation and heating effect on the melt distribution pipe, metering pump, and spinning head components.


② Method: The biphenyl biphenyl ether heat carrier (biphenyl/biphenyl ether -26.5%/73.5%) is heated with an electric heating rod.


③ Insulation layer of 80-100mm, filled with ultra-fine glass fiber or other insulation materials.


(4) High temperature gear pump for metering pump.


(5) Spinning head assembly


① The function is to filter the melt, prevent clogging of the spinneret hole, fully mix the melt, reduce the viscosity difference of the melt, evenly disperse the melt into each small hole of the spinneret hole, and form a fine flow of the melt.


② The combination of structural spinneret plate, melt distribution plate, melt filtration material, and assembly sleeve.


Heating of spinning box (biphenyl heating box)


① The insulation and heating effect on the melt distribution pipe, metering pump, and spinning head components.


② Method: The biphenyl biphenyl ether heat carrier (biphenyl/biphenyl ether -26.5%/73.5%) is heated with an electric heating rod.


③ Insulation layer of 80-100mm, filled with ultra-fine glass fiber or other insulation materials.


Wire cooling device


(1) The spinning window allows the filament to be cooled only by directional, quantitative, and qualitative air flow during the cooling process, with a uniform and consistent cooling rate. The fiber solidification position is fixed (not affected by the surrounding airflow).


(2) The lower part of the slow cooling chamber is equipped with two front and rear plug plates to separate it from the cooling spinning cylinder, and the upper part has a locking device to form a slow cooling zone under the spinneret plate; 30~200mm long; Prevent the cooling wind from blowing on the surface of the wire spraying plate, reduce the birefringence of the winding wire, and improve the stretchability.
